Dry Berths at Little Avon Marina
Our dry berths give you a safe, convenient place to store your boat out of the water while keeping it just steps from the slipway. Ideal for boats up to 6 metres, each berth provides a clean, tidy and well-managed space with easy access whenever you need it. Boats must be kept on your own trailer, we launch for you: simply contact us and we will launch your boat for you, moor it up ready for your arrival, and you can just hop on and go. Dry berth customers can enjoy up to three launches per week, making this one of the easiest and most convenient ways to access the water without towing, reversing or launching yourself.
We only have up to 12 spaces for this service. The yard is monitored daily and run by people who work on boats all year round, so you can trust your craft is in good hands.
Why Choose a Dry Berth?
A dry berth gives you the best of both worlds: the convenience of being right next to the water without the cost, hassle or wear-and-tear of keeping your boat afloat full-time. Your boat stays clean, protected and safely stored on your trailer, with no constant fouling, no tide-related issues and no mooring maintenance. When you want to head out, just let us know — we’ll launch it for you, moor it up ready, and you can simply step aboard and go. It’s a smarter, more affordable way to enjoy regular boating, especially for 4–6m craft, and keeps everything easy, stress-free and under control. No towing through traffic, no reversing down busy slipways, and no rushing to beat the tide — just turn up, enjoy the water and leave the rest to us.

What size boats can you dry berth?
We can accommodate boats up to 6 metres on their trailers.
How does the launch service work?
Simple — you contact us, we launch your boat for you and moor it up ready. You just turn up, hop on and go. No towing, no reversing, no slipway hassle.
How many launches can I have each week?
Dry berth customers can enjoy up to three launches per week.
Do I need to be there for the launch?
No. You can arrive after the boat is already moored and ready to go.
Where is the dry berth located?
At Little Avon Marine in Christchurch, Dorset, right beside the water with slipway access and a pay-and-display car park directly outside.
Is the yard secure?
Yes — the yard is monitored, well-organised and managed daily. Your craft stays on your trailer in a clean, tidy and controlled environment.
Why should I choose a dry berth instead of a mooring?
Dry berths avoid fouling, tide issues, mooring costs and the wear-and-tear of staying afloat full-time. It’s cheaper, simpler and offers fast, stress-free access.
How long is the minimum term?
Dry berths typically run April-April but sometimes can accommodate shorter terms.
Can I work on my boat while it’s in the dry berth?
Yes — light maintenance is fine. For larger maintenance jobs, we can move the boat to the shed or yard area if needed.
Can I store more than one boat?
Yes — if space allows. We can arrange multi-craft storage or family use.
Do you offer winter storage too?
Yes — winter storage, temporary storage and small-craft storage (boards, kayaks, dinghies) are all available on site.
How do I sign up?
