FAQ

Hauling Out – Frequently Asked Questions

What size boats can you haul out?

At the moment we are hauling boats up to 25ft. As we refine the system, we may expand this — but 25ft is the working limit for now.

How does the trolley system work?

Our trolley runs on rails with two winches. We lower it into the water, you float your boat onto it, we secure it safely, then winch it up into the shed. The system has been in use since the 1950s and is fully insured.

Is the haul-out safe?

Yes. The trolley and winch system is fully insured and has been operating safely for decades. Boats are secured correctly before being moved.

How much does it cost?

Haul-out starts from £300, which includes up to three days inside the shed for your work or our work.

What can I do during the three days in the shed?

You can carry out your own DIY maintenance, bring your own tradespeople, or we can complete the work for you. The shed has full electrics, lighting, space and shelter.

What work can you undertake?

We handle:

  • GRP & fibreglass repairs

  • Gelcoat repairs

  • Antifouling

  • Cleaning & polishing

  • General maintenance

We can also bring in our trusted tradesmen for engine, electrical or specialist work.

Can I bring my own tradespeople?

Yes — as long as they respect the space and work safely. We can coordinate with them if needed.

What if I need longer than three days?

Additional days can be arranged depending on availability. We’ll provide a clear price before work starts.

Do you offer storage?

Short-term storage while the boat is in the shed is included. Long-term winter or summer storage can be arranged in our yard if required.

Can you work on my boat while it’s on the trailer?

Yes. For smaller jobs, we have a yard area where we can work directly from your trailer without using the haul-out system.

Do I need to be there during haul-out?

No — you can simply moor your boat by the slipway, and we will handle the entire haul-out process for you. We’ll float the boat onto the trolley, secure it correctly, and winch it up into the shed. You don’t need to be present.

How do I book?

You can call, message.. We’ll give you an estimate and confirm available haul-out dates.
